Fall Network TV Preview: A Guide to All 17 New Shows
In the gallery above, we preview all 17 of the new shows debuting this fall on the five broadcast networks, listed in alphabetical order.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 9 on The CW
WHAT: A loose adaptation of the classic children's mystery book series that is set in the summer after Drew's high school graduation and plays a bit like Veronica Mars crossed with Riverdale. Definitely not for young children, the first season finds the new grad's college hopes put on hold when she becomes caught up in a family tragedy and a murder investigation. Despite numerous attempts by multiple networks over the past decades, the character has never actually had her own stand-alone television series before, though she did appear in the late 1970s as part of The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries on ABC (and that show's star, Pamela Sue Martin, guests in the opener of the new series).
WHO'S IN IT: Newcomer Kennedy McMann stars as Nancy, while Scott Wolf, Riley Smith (Proven Innocent) and Leah Lewis also star.
WHO MADE IT: The team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The O.C., Gossip Girl, Marvel's Runaways), along with Noga Landau.
