Fall Network TV Preview: A Guide to All 17 New Shows
In the gallery above, we preview all 17 of the new shows debuting this fall on the five broadcast networks, listed in alphabetical order.
WHEN: Tuesday, September 24 on ABC
WHAT: The second spinoff from ABC's comedy hit black-ish following grown-ish, which airs on Freeform. This one is a 1980s-set prequel centering on a young version of Tracee Ellis Ross' character Rainbow Johnson—specifically, her childhood in a suburban mixed-race family after her parents moved from a hippie commune to a neighborhood with better schools. The theme song comes from Mariah Carey. Weirdly, mixed-ish will lead into the returning black-ish on Tuesday nights rather than the other way around.
WHO'S IN IT: Arica Himmel, Tika Sumpter, Mark-Paul Gosselaar
WHO MADE IT: Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, plus Peter Saji, a writer/producer on that show as well as Cougar Town. Star's Karin Gist will serve as showrunner.
