Sci-fi/drama series debuts December 13 on Hulu
This FX-produced (but Hulu-exclusive) adaptation of Octavia Butler's influential 1979 novel Kindred comes from Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, a producer on Watchmen and Outer Range. Newcomer Mallori Johnson heads the cast as Dana James, an aspiring writer who relocates to Los Angeles but then finds herself shifting back and forth through time between the present day and a 19th century plantation that played a major role in her family's history. Producers on the series include Darren Aronofsky and The Americans team of Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields, while directors include Janicza Bravo (Zola). All eight episodes will be available to binge on day one.
