The Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Holiday streams Dec. 2 on The Roku Channel
Baking It Celebrity Holiday Special airs Dec. 12 on NBC (and streams Dec. 13 on Peacock)
The American version of The Great British Baking Show, which formerly aired on ABC, returns this week with an all-new celebrity special on the show's new home, The Roku Channel, in advance of a full (non-celebrity) season early next year. Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry take over as hosts, while UK series regulars Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith serve as judges.
Meanwhile, another cozy baking competition—Peacock's Making It spinoff Baking It—returns for its second season on December 12 with a slight host change: Amy Poehler replaces Andy Samberg as co-host alongside a returning Maya Rudolph. Along with that second season comes an NBC primetime holiday special that finds celebrities such as Kristen Bell, JB Smoove, Fred Armisen, and Nicole Richie competing.
Bonus picks: If you enjoy watching celebrities compete but baking isn't your thing, Fox will run a three-night holiday edition of LEGO Masters beginning December 19, with guests including Cheryl Hines and the late Leslie Jordan. If you prefer baking done by professionals rather than TV stars, Amazon's streaming services (both Prime Video and Freevee) will launch the Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge on December 13. That show tasks its bakers to craft desserts inspired by Seuss stories and characters.
