The hit Tony and Olivier award-winning musical makes its way to the big screen and Netflix this month with Alisha Weir in the starring role of Matilda Wormwood, Lashana Lynch as her inspirational teacher Miss Honey and Emma Thompson as the villainous headmistress of Crunchem Hall, Miss Trunchbull. Directed by Matthew Warchus, whose Pride earned very favorable reviews in 2014, the new film has also impressed critics for its fun performances (Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough play Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood), colorful cinematography, creative choreography, and catchy songs.
