Naomi Ackie stars as Whitney Houston in this musical biopic based on the iconic singer’s life. Directed by Kasi Lemmons (Harriet, Talk to Me, Eve's Bayou) from a script by Anthony McCarten (The Two Popes, Darkest Hour, The Theory of Everything), the film fearers Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis, Ashton Sanders as Bobby Brown, Nafessa Williams as Robyn Crawford, and Tamara Tunie and Clarke Peters as her parents Cissy and John Houston. As an authorized biopic, fans will get to enjoy Whitney’s music on the big screen, but how much it will dive into her troubled life remains to be seen.
