Movie debuts December 21 on Prime Video
Streaming on Amazon following a brief theatrical run (which begins December 10), the latest feature from writer-director Aaron Sorkin unfolds over the course of one eventful week during the filming of the famed sitcom I Love Lucy. Nicole Kidman (rather improbably) plays Lucille Ball, while Javier Bardem portrays Desi Arnaz. As for Fred and Ethel? That would be J.K. Simmons and Nina Arianda. Will it be an Oscar contender ... or a misguided trip to the uncanny valley? We'll know more when reviews arrive sometime in the next week, but early buzz following the film's first industry screening suggests that Kidman actually delivers one of the best performances of her career.
