December Preview: 16 TV Shows & New Movies to Watch at Home
In the gallery above, our editors have selected the coming month's most promising TV shows (including limited series and specials) as well as movies available to watch at home through VOD and digital purchases, listed in order by premiere date. Many of these titles haven't been reviewed yet (and we haven't seen them), but they are the most intriguing new releases on paper, at least, arriving in December.
Miniseries debuts December 17 on CBS All Access. Streaming weekly on the soon-to-be-rebranded CBS All Access (which could turn into Paramount+ midway through the show's run), this nine-episode adaptation of Stephen King's epic apocalyptic novel about life in America after a devastating global pandemic (no relation) stars Alexander Skarsgård, Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Heather Graham, Greg Kinnear, Odessa Young, and Nat Wolff. The series, which wrapped up two years of production just before the arrival of our real-life global pandemic, features an all-new ending written by King.
