Horror master Wes Craven directed this 1982 feature film based on the character created a decade earlier by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, played here by future Twin Peaks star Ray Wise. Some critics appreciated Craven's attempts to inject humor and old-fashioned B-movie fun into the story, while others just found it silly.
