A remake of the most heralded and highest-rated miniseries in TV history (itself an adaptation of Alex Haley's novel), this eight-hour series traces the rise and fall of American slavery through the eyes of young African boy Kunta Kinte and his descendants across two centuries, with a cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Anna Paquin, Laurence Fishburne, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anika Noni Rose, T.I., Matthew Goode, Mekhi Phifer, and James Purefoy.
