Best Star Wars Videogames of the Last 20 Years
Videogames based on movies often get a bad rap, but those based on the Star Wars universe have largely bucked the trend. Fans are spoiled for choice—there’s a wide selection of excellent titles across a number of genres. Here are the 25 best Star Wars games from the last two decades, as rated by the critics (and our unique Metascore).
Note: For the purposes of this list, we excluded Star Wars pinball titles and games with fewer than seven reviews. (And if a game was released on more than one platform, we included the version that received the largest number of reviews from critics.)
(tied for #7) In this first entry in the popular Nintendo Star Wars series, you take over the part of Rogue Squadron commander Luke Skywalker, battling the Empire over the course of 16 missions.
Says IGN in its review: “While the one-track gameplay isn’t enough to challenge GoldenEye as the best movie game on the console, Rogue Squadron definitely emerges as a shining example that not all licensed games are quick attempts to get your hard-earned money.”
