Videogames based on movies often get a bad rap, but those based on the Star Wars universe have largely bucked the trend. Fans are spoiled for choice—there’s a wide selection of excellent titles across a number of genres. Here are the 25 best Star Wars games from the last two decades, as rated by the critics (and our unique Metascore).
Note: For the purposes of this list, we excluded Star Wars pinball titles and games with fewer than seven reviews. (And if a game was released on more than one platform, we included the version that received the largest number of reviews from critics.)
(tied for #25) This action sequel, developed by Factor 5 for publisher LucasArts, follows the story of Luke Skywalker’s Rogue Squadron shortly after the destruction of the Death Star. The game introduced ground battles and a two-player cooperative mode.
“The flying missions are fantastic, but the on-foot portions need some work,” notes Nintendo Power in a largely positive review. “The camera doesn't work very well and you don't have any control over it.”
