Below are the highest-scoring games released for Sony's PlayStation 4 console between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Games are ranked by Metascore prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews from professional critics are excluded.
While 2014's Titanfall, the multiplayer shooter from a team of former Call of Duty developers, scored fairly strong reviews, it couldn't quite meet all of fans' (perhaps unrealistic) expectations. This first major sequel brings the game (previously an XB1 console exclusive) to the PS4 for the first time and adds a single-player campaign. The result seems to be pleasing both critics and gamers.
