Co-founder of the Grammy-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, Giddens attracted acclaim as a solo artist for her performance during the Coen brothers' Another Day, Another Time concert and her contribution to the compilation Lost on the River. Her full-length solo debut was produced, like that album, by T-Bone Burnett.
