Which albums have impressed critics the most during the first half of the year? Above, we rank the best-reviewed LPs released between January 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022 by Metascore. Albums must have at least 7 reviews from professional critics to be eligible, and resissues, EPs, live albums, and compilations are excluded.
Almost exactly a year to the day after releasing one of the best debut albums of 2021, England's Black Country, New Road put out a quick follow-up record, and it was even more of a critical smash. But finding success a third time may be a bit more challenging: Frontman Isaac Wood left the band just days before the release of Ants.
