The 20 Best Albums of 2021 So Far
Which albums have impressed critics the most during the first half of the year? Above, we rank the best-reviewed LPs released between January 1, 2021 and June 30, 2021 by Metascore. Albums must have at least 7 reviews from professional critics to be eligible, and resissues, EPs, live albums, and compilations are excluded.
London-based grime artist Justin Clarke has been earning raves for his third studio album (and major label debut) as Ghetts. Released in February, Conflict of Interest features collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, and Skepta among its 16 racks—as well as one with fellow critically acclaimed rapper Dave, to whom Ghetts has been compared.
“'Conflict Of Interest’ could sit on the same shelf as Dave’s ‘Psychodrama’ as an album that depicts honest tales of London through the art of true lyricism, a tradition that will never die out.” —NME
