The third solo album from the Carolina Chocolate Drops frontwoman is a collaboration with Italian jazz musician Francisco Turrisi that was recorded in just five days. And it's not the only 2019 release from Giddens; she also spearheaded the Songs of Our Native Daughters folk project released in February.
