The result—fortunately pared down to a mere 109 minutes from the thousands of hours of footage—offers an intimate portrait of the actor and person and, surprisingly, it's no hagiography. But fans of the actor should delight in behind-the-scenes footage of his many films—and his auditions for roles in major movies that he ultimately didn't get. The film debuted at Cannes a few weeks ago to solid reviews and now comes to Amazon after a brief theatrical run.
