10 Films to See in August

Parker Sawyers and Tika Sumpter star as Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson in writer-director Richard Tanne’s depiction of what might have happened on the first date between the future President and First Lady. This bit of historical fiction was warmly received by critics at Sundance, and it could serve as a remedy for the current political climate. At the very least, it's a reminder of the people behind the public personas—a simple story about two individuals spending the day together, getting to know each other, and sharing their hopes and fears.
