Miniseries debuts April 12 on Epix. Every current show on TV suddenly seems like a period piece, but this new drama would be one under any circumstances. Co-produced by the UK's ITV, the latest TV project from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is a six-part adaptation of his own novel set in upper crust London near the beginning of the Victorian era in the 1840s. Tamsin Greig, Philip Glenister, Harriet Walter, Tom Wilkinson, and Alice Eve star. Think of it as Dickens lite, say critics—not a classic, but good enough for now.
