Comedy series debuts April 17 on Netflix. Veteran TV writer and producer Kenya Barris is best known as the creator of long-running ABC hit Black-ish (as well as its spinoffs Mixed-ish and Grown-ish) and as the writer of films like Girls Trip. Now, he steps in front of the camera for the first time as the star of his latest series, formerly titled Black Excellence. He plays a heightened version of himself in this skewed take on the family sitcom format—which promises to be more Curb Your Enthusiasm than TGIF—alongside Rashida Jones, who plays his wife. Guest stars include Ava DuVernay, Mike Epps, Tyler Perry, Lena Waithe, and Issa Rae.
