Graphic novelist Dash Shaw makes his directorial debut with this animated mash-up of high school comedy and disaster movie featuring the voices of Jason Schwartzman, Reggie Watts, Susan Sarandon, Maya Rudolph, Lena Dunham, and Alex Karpovsky. Best friends Dash (Schwartzman) and Assaf (Watts) are sophomores at Tides High when an earthquake sends it into the Pacific Ocean. Who will survive? Despite a slight story, most critics think it’s worth seeing to find out.
