10 Films to See in April
Thanks to a recent date change, April's most intriguing movie—Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused semi-sequel Everybody Wants Some!!—is technically a March release, opening in select theaters tomorrow. But you can see it in April, along with new films from Jeremy Saulnier, Don Cheadle, John Carney, Aleksandr Sokurov, Joachim Trier, and more.
When it played at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, the English-language debut of writer-director Joachim Trier (Reprise, Oslo, August 31st) was a minor disappointment, despite good reviews overall, due to the strength of his previous films and his new film’s strong cast. The story examines the impact of a war photographer’s (Isabelle Huppert) death on her husband (Gabriel Byrne) and two sons (Jesse Eisenberg and Devin Druid).
