Brotherhood of the Wolf director Christophe Gans pursued the rights to the Konami game for years, and it’s clear from every beautifully composed shot that he has an eye for strong, atmospheric imagery. Unfortunately, the film gets bogged down by a befuddling plot that goes on long past our ability to pay attention.
