Out February 14 for PlayStation 4. Our returning champion Dreams has appeared in our annual games preview every year since 2016. But we promise that this is its final appearance, since its release is finally just weeks away.
First announced in 2013, the unconventional and hugely ambitious PS4 exclusive from Tearaway and LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule is, like the latter, both game and game creator in one. Dreams will come with a variety of pre-built games at launch. But it has a heavy emphasis on user-generated content much like LittleBigPlanet, though you won't be designing levels. Instead, you have incredible flexibility to create and share "dreams," which could be anything from animations to paintings to music to puzzles—and even, should you desire, your own battle royale game—limited only by your imagination. It may be hard to fully grasp until you get your hands on it, but Dreams was already honored by critics as the best original game at 2018's E3 conference.
