2020 Games Preview: 40 Notable Releases Including Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part II, and More
In the gallery above, find details on the most-anticipated games that are expected to be released for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC during 2020. (They're listed in alphabetical order.) While our list only includes games with confirmed release dates or that seem more likely than not to come out this year, you'll also find some of the more remote possibilities for 2020 compiled at the end of the gallery.
Out September 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. The most-anticipated new IP of the year was recently delayed by five months, but at least the release remains (for now) in 2020. A highly ambitious, dystopian, first-person action-RPG game from CD Projekt Red, best known for their acclaimed game trilogy based on The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077 is adapted from the tabletop Cyberpunk games and is set in an open-world megacity in a dystopian, cybernetics-filled, corporation-controlled future. (Writers have described early looks at the game as a blend of Deus Ex and The Witcher 3, with a bit of Blade Runner thrown in for good measure.) Keanu Reeves plays the main character, while the soundtrack includes tracks from Run the Jewels, Grimes, A$AP Rocky, and Refused.
Despite the delay, there are no plans to bring the game to the upcoming next-generation consoles (yet). And a multiplayer version of Cyberpunk won't show up until 2022 at the earliest.
