2020 Games Preview: 40 Notable Releases Including Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part II, and More
In the gallery above, find details on the most-anticipated games that are expected to be released for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC during 2020. (They're listed in alphabetical order.) While our list only includes games with confirmed release dates or that seem more likely than not to come out this year, you'll also find some of the more remote possibilities for 2020 compiled at the end of the gallery.
Out late 2020 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC. The third game in Ubisoft's computer-hacking open-world action-adventure series (and first since 2016's Watch Dogs 2) shifts the action not just to a new city, but a new continent. The setting is post-Brexit London, where you are attempting to resist the burgeoning surveillance state as a member of DedSec. And, in a major change, you won't be forced to stick with one playable character. Instead, you'll be able to recruit any NPC you encounter as one of your players (falling into one of three classes: Infiltrator, Enforcer, and Hacker)—though if any one of your characters dies, that death is permanent. You'll also have the ability to navigate the city on foot, in a vehicle, or via the Underground. The single-player campaign should have over 60 missions, and some sort of co-op multiplayer will also be part of the game.
The game was recently delayed from a planned March release and is supposed to launch in 2020, but could actually arrive anytime between April 2020 and March 2021. (Since it will be available on the next-gen consoles, Legion seems unlikely to arrive much before they do.)
