2020 Games Preview: 40 Notable Releases Including Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part II, and More
In the gallery above, find details on the most-anticipated games that are expected to be released for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC during 2020. (They're listed in alphabetical order.) While our list only includes games with confirmed release dates or that seem more likely than not to come out this year, you'll also find some of the more remote possibilities for 2020 compiled at the end of the gallery.
Life Is Strange studio DONTNOD has a pair of narrative adventure games due out in 2020. Launching (in three episodes) this summer for Xbox One and PC is the Microsoft exclusive Tell Me Why (pictured above), a realistic story which follows identical twins as they unravel a mystery about their childhood in small-town Alaska, though they are hindered by disparate memories. One of those twins appears to be the first playable character from a major videogame who is transgender.
The studio is also working on a second 2020 title, though this is where things get confusing. Twin Mirror (coming to PS4, XB1, and PC) is not the game featuring twins. Instead, it's a darker psychological thriller set in West Virginia where a down-on-his-luck journalist, visiting for a funeral, awakens to discover a blood-stained shirt in his hotel room and no memory of the night before.
