Out tbd for Xbox One and PC. One of the longest-running computer game franchises in history returns with a major new release for the first time in 14 years. The series has always been known for its accuracy, but the new game looks to be more realistic than ever. The lifelike 4K graphics will reproduce the entire planet in great detail using satellite data enhanced with 3D textures generated by Microsoft's own Azure cloud computing service. (Among other things, the in-game world will include over 40,000 real-world airports.) Flight Simulator, which will be free for Game Pass subscribers (and will likely land on PC before Xbox), will also feature live weather effects, real-time airport conditions, and a large variety of aircraft to pilot, including multiple commercial jetliners from both Boeing and Airbus, business jets, and smaller prop planes.
