Yesterday, in part 1 of our preview, we looked at 2017's most-anticipated sequels and remakes. Today, in our conclusion, we pick out the coming year's most promising new properties, both from big name developers as well as indie studios.

What: A long-delayed "roguelike-like" exploration adventure from indie studio Capybara Games (Super Time Force). First announced in 2013 (and even then, already in development for several years), Below features a procedurally generated world with a "brutal" difficulty level and permanent death. Elevating the game is an attention to detail that includes nifty tilt-shift graphic effects and a soundtrack from musician Jim Guthrie.
