Yesterday, in part 1 of our preview, we looked at 2017's most-anticipated sequels and remakes. Today, in our conclusion, we pick out the coming year's most promising new properties, both from big name developers as well as indie studios.

What: Another action-RPG from indie studio Supergiant Games, whose first two releases (Bastion, Transistor) earned critical acclaim. Pyre, which features a fantasy setting, continues the studio's knack for gorgeous illustration and couples it with new team-based "combat", which takes the form of a three-on-three sport featuring a glowing orb that requires teamwork and strategy to be successful.
