Director Quentin Tarantino always intended for his tale of a woman’s quest for revenge to be told in at least two volumes, but it is the second installment (released in 2004, a year after the first Kill Bill), that really resonated with critics. Between star Uma Thurman’s hard sell, the intense fight sequences, and the incredible visuals, many consider it one of Tarantino’s overall career highlights.
