The Monkees
Biography:
The pop-rock band The Monkees was a musical ensemble put together by studio executives from casting calls and auditions for a television show by the same name, based on the success The Beatles had with their feature film A Hard Day's Night.
The four actor/musicians who would get the jobs were Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork.
