Susie Rugg

Biography: Born on the 17th January 1982, Susie joined Home and Away as Brodie Hanson.

Susie was born and raised in Sydney. Susie lived in Adelaide for a year when she was eight, as her Dad had a transfer for work. Susie finished school last year and had planned to go to University this year, but fate stepped in and she joined Home and Away instead. She will most likely defer her studies and go back at a later stage. Susie majored in Art and Designer technology at school and will eventually; she says, continue on in this field. Although she does say that acting and art are an equal passion. Susie has been involved in Youth Theatre since she was seven years of age. She attended various local drama schools and was involved in ShopFront- a youth community theatre. This is Susie's first long term television role, but you have seen her face before. She is currently on the Telstra print and television ads. Susie also appeared in an episode of All Saints. Susie in fact went for the role of Dani, a role that went to Tammin Sursok, but the producers knew she was more suitable for the role of Brodie.

Susie was thrilled to join the cast of Home and Away. She watched the show back in the 'Bobby' days and then came back to the show in the 'Shane and Angel' days.

'At the moment, I just go in and do my job, work with fantastic people but not quite realise the impact my job has until it is on air, so I am a bit apprehensive. I have had time to adjust to the role and love playing Brodie so I am having a great time', she says.

Susie lives at home with her mum, dad and older brother who is 20. They also share their house with their dog Annie, a cocker spaniel.

She loves Art, cooking, theatre design and making puppets! Susie was involved with puppet theatre at one stage.

When she gets the time, Susie loves to go on huge walks and go shopping with friends.

Her favourite actress is Audrey Hepburn.
