Sidney Howard

Biography: Born June 26, 1891, Howard was the prolific writer of over 70 plays as well as an occasional director and producer of theater. He received the 1925 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for They Knew What They Wanted. Later, Howard became a sucessful screenwriter, winning a Best Screenplay Oscar for 1939's Gone With the Wind, plus two other nominations (for 1932's adaptation of Arrowsmith and 1936's Dodsworth).
