Ned Sparks

Biography: Ned Sparks was born in small town Guelph, and went to University of Toronto. He tried looking for a job back in his hometown, but made his way to Alaska. In Alaska, during the Klondike Gold Rush, he would sing at the saloons. Supposedly he made the gold diggers cry with his ballads. They would throw money at him to show their appreciation. He would eventually make his way to New York. There he made it successfully as a comedian, and the critics loved him especially the first time he used his famous deadpan look. Moving to Hollywood, he hit it big in the 1920s, and would make 80 films in 3 decades. He would die in 1957 of intestinal block. He never made it to stardom, but he has many great classic films to his name.
