Martha Coolidge
Biography: Coolidge began directing commercials and short documentaries in the 1960s, and attracted critical attention with her first feature in 1976, the feminist drama Not A Pretty Picture. Since the 1980s she has shown a special flair for comedy with Valley Girl, Real Genius, and Lost In Yonkers; her Calder Willingham adaptation, the period drama Rambling Rose, was also successful.
