Kathy Griffin
Biography: Small in stature but blessed with a big mouth, this feisty redhead started out with the Groundlings improv troupe before launching a career in stand-up comedy. After a handful of small film roles and TV guest spots, Griffin gained national prominence as Brooke Shields' sarcastic sidekick on four seasons of the sitcom Suddenly Susan. After that series ended in 2000, Griffin found her niche in reality television. Whether winning on Celebrity Mole Hawaii, hosting Average Joe, discussing her extensive plastic surgery and huge gay following, or dishing about celebrities on Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, this acid-tongued comedian has been alternately loved and hated for just being herself. But in recent years, Griffin has also become a prominent gay-rights advocate, speaking out in favor of same-sex marriage and supporting charitable organizations like Aid for AIDS and the American Foundation for AIDS Research, as well as hosting the annual Best in Drag Show fundraiser.
