Joe Don Baker

Biography: Baker is a tough-looking Texan who appeared as lead and support in a variety of simple-minded, unsubtle action films. He is best known for his portrayal of Sherriff Buford Pusser in Walking Tall (1972). Through most of the '70s he took leading roles in sub-standard action movies. Baker took a four-year break from films beginning in 1978, concentrating on TV work.
