Joan Hickson

Biography: British character actress, onscreen from the '30s. She is best known as the title character in the BBC-TV series Miss Marple. Retired in October 1992, aged 86, following the completion of 12 full length Miss Marple films, the last of which was the Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side.
