Brian Pillman

Biography: Brian Willman Pillman was born in the Jewish hospital in Cincinnati. When Brian was just two months old his father passed away of arteriosclerotic heart disease, he never had the chance to really meet him. He was raised by his mother and his two sisters, Angie & Linda. By the time Brian turned two years old it was discovered that he had polypous, a type of throat cancer. He went through over forty surgeries and ended up beating it but his voice was forever damaged. Which can be noted as to why his voice is so scratchy. After his battle with cancer Brian took to sports by playing hockey but learned that he didn't have to many opportunities in the Cincinnati area. That lead him into football as a way to get a college scholarship but it became much more than that. Brian ended up dominating football but was considered to small to amount to anything in the business. He also went on to join the CFL in Canada after being cut from the Bills. While working with the CFL Brain injured his ankle thus opening up a whole new world known as wrestling. He decided to stay in Canada with his injury and began getting trained by legendary Stu Hart. He enrolled in Stampede Wrestling in Calgary,Canada. It wasn't until the late 1980's that Brian got his first shot in wrestling outside of Canada in WCW. It was there that he got his nickname 'Flyin' Brian Pillman, due to his ariel asult. He was partnered with Tom Zenk during the begining of his career. An than later he and Stunning Steve Austin became the Hollywood Blondes. Brians time in WCW saw him become the WCW Light Heavyweight Champion twice and the WCW Tag Team Champion once [with Steve Austin]. After Brians partnership with Stunning Steve he joined the legendary group known as the Four Horsemen, consisting of Ric Flair,Arn Anderson,Chris Benoit and himself. He began developing a controversial character. Brian went out every night and potrayed he's actual feelings and emotions but passed them as a character. During that time his character basically was a mixed persona that people couldn't quite define. Brians contract with WCW was coming to an end and Brian made it pretty clear that he wasn't sure what he would do. He made an appearence on ECW which turned out to be completely insane. Brian actually urinated in the ECW ring. He wanted the fans to wonder what was reality and was a work. Once all the contracts were settled Brian decided to go to WWE, his debut match was already planned but than an accident occured. Brian fliped his RV, flew 40 feet from the wreckage, his ankle was turned 180 degrees and his facial bones were basically destroyed. During his time in recovery he was still being paid by WCW and would be until his contract expired. Than he would leave for WWE and the plans would follow through once he recovered. Though Brian convinced the promotors that he could come back, he was worng. Brian came back and interviewed Stone Cold [his old partner] and during the segment he ended up reinjuring his ankle. This led to one of the most controversial events during his time in WWE, where they had a segment taking place at Brians home. Stone Cold showed up to attack Brian which led to Brian pulling out a gun on Stone Cold. Nobody was injured during the segment but it was requested from media that this type of thing would never happen again. After the dust had settled Brian became involved with the Hart Foundation for some time but became more involved with a different storyline which included Goldust & Marlena. The storyline was never finished due to the fact Brian had passed away. Brian never showed his emotions on how much pain he was in. He suffered back problems and ankle problems but if you asked him what was wrong he would lie and say nothing. Brian was taking so much pain killers and other perscription drugs that it was believed that he died of an overdose. Brian did not however die from an overdose he died of Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease or more simply put an enlarged heart, just like his father. Brian passed away October 5th, 1997 in Minnesota the day of the In your house: Badd Blood pay per view. A memorial show was broadcasted the following night on Raw and there have been memorial tribute shows yearly known as the Brian Pillman Memorial Show. Where wrestlers come out to pay honor to the great Flyin Brian Pillman by wrestling and putting on great performances. Also, Brian was married on March 17th, 1993 to Melanie. He had two children [Brittany & Danielle] from a previous relationship. He and Melanie had one son [Brian Jr] which turned out to be their one and only son.… Expand
