Andrew Gillman
Biography: Born in London, educated and brought up in Middlesex, he saw the film/TV industry as a rapid exit from suburbia. Trained as a film editor and started directing in TV commercials before moving into TV via Network 7 and 01 for London. Ruby Wax spotted his inert comedy talent and persuaded him to direct the location films for The Full Wax, including her infamous break-in to Joanna Lumley's house. The television comedy mafia now had him in their clutches, although he's always tried to stay near the edge for a quick getaway. Personal favourites include The Day Today, The World of Lee Evans 'Meet the Folks' episode1, That Peter Kay Thing and, most recently, Terri McIntyre. He is presently raising finance for his second feature film - a weird slacker comedy set in Yeovil.
