Alf Kjellin
Biography: Kjellin began acting in Swedish films in the mid '30s, and won acclaim in 1944 for Alf Sjoberg's Hets (aka Frenzy; Torment), written by Ingmar Bergman. He was acting in Hollywood by the end of the decade, starting with Vincente Minnelli's Madame Bovary (using the name Christopher Kent). Over the next two decades Kjellin acted in several notable films, including Bergman's Sommarlek (aka Illicit Interlude; Summer Interlude), Carl Foreman's The Victors, and Stanley Kramer's Ship of Fools. In 1957 he debuted as a writer and director with Girl in the Rain; Kjellin helmed several more films over the next dozen years, including the caper tale Midas Run and the western The McMasters; he also directed for television.
