Ex Models make the cleanest and most non-metal racket you're likely to find. [Jul 2003, p.113]
  2. Zoo Psychology is gritty, and crazy, and at times, almost maddening.
  3. Ex Models are not afraid of the gaps created by their minimal approach; they use the silence to contrast the unholy racket they can make.

It sounds like a war against music. [#60, p.97]

Whether this leaves you head-scratching or dancing like an electrified monkey, it certainly won't bore you. [Jul 2003, p.109]
  6. Zoo Psychology's refrains are faster, shorter, and more efficient than ever.
  7. This band is awfully good at being annoying.
  8. A very loud, very strange and playfully destructive album.
  9. This is an odd album, weirdly compelling and madly frustrating.
  10. Zoo Psychology is a phenomenal 20-minute experience, if only for its sheer insanity. The songs aren’t consistently strong enough for it to be remembered too long down the road, but it does make for a thrilling listen.

This album manages to make a bunch of annoying genres catchy. Too bad it's too good to be hip.
