Miley has a beautiful voice, she had to change, she did well, she has composed all the songs and each of the lyrics is personally and artistically beautiful. When I first heard it I couldn't connect with the production of some of the tracks, but as I listened to it and time passed I can say that the album has aged very well.

Great production, killer vocals and I have always been impressed by Miss Cyrus's ability to create harmonies and harmonize as a backing vocalist. She did not disappoint, she did however surprise me, with a major improvement as a lyricist. Bad Mood, Love Someone, Malibu, I Would Die For You and Shes Not Him were the highlights of the 11 track album.

When we thought we saw all Miley's faces.. here it comes Younger Now: a fresh country pop album. Miley seems comfort with that, shes cool and authentic, with emotional and deep lyrics and good vocals on it that allow us to know about her even more from a different point of view.

Younger Now is a good album with country influence, but a risky attempt at that time. It would probably be better if Miley had made a transitive album before that to make the audience more prepared for it and not create a certain kind of "rejection." The highlights of the album are "Malibu", the title track "Younger Now", "Week Without You" and "Inspired". Despite the great vocals, it's not an album I'd listen to often, but it's not a throwaway material either. Expand

Sounds like perfection. I love everything that this challenging and innovative artist releases, but this particular album. It's really magical. People and criticism in general should evaluate their songs and their quality and never the artist's story before giving a note.

Demi Lovato wasn’t the only Disney star releasing recently. In fact, she went head to head with Miley Cyrus a few weeks ago when the former Hannah Montana released her sixth studio album, “Younger Now”. Even though the passionate love song “Malibu” was the perfect way to begin Miley’s new era, the overall direction didn’t play in her favor.

Say goodbye to the sassy, audacious and sexual Miley Cyrus you remember from “Bangerz”. Say also goodbye to the urban bops she delivered during that same era. Miley sets the record straight right from the first track: “I’m not afraid of who I used to be”, she sings during “Younger Now”, the album’s first track. Of course she is not… After all, if it wasn’t for all that craziness around her, Miley wouldn’t have happened post Disney Channel. In fact, I believe that Miley Cyrus thought she became such a big name out of her previous era that she could come, sing country and just slay the charts as she once did. Well, that didn’t work.

In a big mixture between country and pop, Miley delivers in “Younger Now” her most personal record so far. Besides the title track and “Malibu” (dedicated to her current boyfriend), Miley sings about other sort of personal things for her. Her hippie roots are of course present in the record as she constantly discusses peace. That can be heard in the cute peaceful tune “Inspired”, a song she dedicates to her father but that can be easily adapted to other circumstances or in “Rainbowland”, a duet with Dolly Parton and possibly the worst song on the record. Slap me now but I really can’t find Dolly’s accent amusing and she speaks quite a lot during the song…

This mixture between Pop and Country can be heard throughout the entire record. There’s obviously Pop and Country songs individually but many - “Younger Now”, “Week Without You” or “Miss You So Much” - do share the trend. Thinking about it, I believe that the only real and pure country tune is the Dolly Parton duet. The beautiful and emotional “I Would Die Without You” represents the end of the album’s first half and kicks its second part… Way more Pop and way less country.

“Thinkin’” comes right after and it obviously contains the album’s catchier chorus as she repeats words such as “much”, “‘nuff” or “touch” quite a few times. Impossible not to sing along. On the other hand, in “Bad Mood”, the production kicks in and Miley gets me confused as I thought her relationship was a fairytale. In it she says “we're held together just by a string” and in the following track, “Love Someone”, she goes “I'm kinda getting tired of dealing with all your stress”. I am not sure what those are supposed to mean but I know the songs are quite flawless as she brings up her bad attitude.

Before “Inspired”, we still have “She’s Not Him”, one of the most interesting songs lyrically as Miley takes an approach to her pansexuality.

The former Disney star has already announced she is not touring with this album. I am certain that there won’t be any more hits coming from it. “Malibu” was and will keep on being the only single-worthy song off “Younger Now”. I guess we will all have to see the album sinking as a ship as there is basically no salvation. Nonetheless, I will be here waiting for a new era.

Personally, I was ready to cancel my pre-order lmao but Miley delivered. top to bottom this is an awesome record, and it’s way more alternative than I'd say “country” and I dig it a lot. I can tell Miley wrote a lot of these songs from her heart and that’s why I love it so much.

I just wish the rollout was better for such a great album. and I honestly think, the wrong singles were chosen - younger now, bad mood and thinking should’ve been the singles before the album dropped. personally, Malibu doesn't capture the feel of the record and younger now opens the album perfectly and explains this whole “change” magnificently and I think if YN was the first song heard w/ the video the era would’ve been handled smoother (by the GP too).

It's not a bop, but I really liked it. The lyrics are the best part, Miley Cyrus is a great composer. What really bothers me are some songs that seems like lazy and more of the same. I hope a pop, fun and memorable next album. I know she can do it.

Following paths different from her styles, Miley Cyrus hit and managed to squander all her talent and who manages to work with styles that doesn't come to the comfort zone. The shallow lyrics and simple productions end up giving an unpretentious air to the album and ending up not airing a sound album, but it shows that she is not here to please anyone other than herself and her fans.

After Bangerz, Miley comes back with the country pop that so well suits her voice. Despite not being her best work, Younger Now has definitely some bangers and shows a much more personal side of the singer.

Eu adoro. O erro foi não ter mantido a estética de malibu e ter escolhido younger now como segundo single. É um country pop bem gostosinho de ouvir mas olhando as letras hoje é bem chocante. Só não gosto de rainbowland e younger now, she's not him e inspired são chatinhas e medianas, o resto adoro. 8/10

Where her past albums felt messy but painfully sincere, Younger Now comes off as safe and overly sanitized, with the frisson that made Cyrus a star all but entirely blasted away. ... Still, the album has some plainly good songs.
