    Wiggs’s music works best when it sets out its melodic ideas, then takes its time subtracting elements until you’re left with a filament of what you started with, as on the stunning penultimate track “The Soft Stars That Shine”. [Jul 2019, p.58]

    Cinematic in scope and scrupulous in detail, We Fall is an expansive mix of poignant and moving tracks that even contain occasional and well-placed vocal tones. More melancholic than vibrant, yet imaginative and gratifying, the surreal soundscapes on We Fall are a welcome diversion from the stresses of our mundane lives.

    With We Fall, Josephine Wiggs has built a picturesque bridge between ambient chamber music and pop songwriting. Artists have been peering from one stylistic shore to the other for decades, but Wiggs travels between them with exceptional agility and poise.
