    Tomlinson's debut album is one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. The lyrics, vocals and melodies are just perfect. He's telling us a story. He's the story. This album got me through so many different emotions, something I've never felt before. Definitely my favourite so far. Louis Tomlinson is the most talented man I've ever known.

    Such an emotional and personal work. You can feel all of his emotions and his sentimental side throughout the songs, since Two of Us and DLIBYH to Always You, Habit or Defenceless. For his first album, I think he was really brave to change his sound in the middle of the way and have the necessity to be 100% honest and true to his fans, and also himself. You can actually see a little bit ofSuch an emotional and personal work. You can feel all of his emotions and his sentimental side throughout the songs, since Two of Us and DLIBYH to Always You, Habit or Defenceless. For his first album, I think he was really brave to change his sound in the middle of the way and have the necessity to be 100% honest and true to his fans, and also himself. You can actually see a little bit of this midway-change during the album by comparing some songs in it, but it doesn't make the experience less magic. It's a mix, it's an experiment, a transition. It's his first album and he gave his best. This is only a small piece of what Louis is capable of as a solo artist, something that a lot of people wouldn't expect of him back in the One Direction's times, when he tried to guarantee his place as a songwriter due to the lack of attention he had on the vocals, for example. Only The Brave is the perfect ending for Walls and for what Louis still has to tell us in his next works. It sounds really personal and intimate, even though he didn't write on this track. In the middle of 11 tracks that were all written by him, we can say that he chose it for a reason, that's for sure. It's only the beginning for Louis to shine and he has all the talent for a brilliant future. "It's a solo song and it's only for the brave."… Expand

    Esbarrei neste álbum enquanto procurava uma música do Noel Gallagher já que, aparentemente, ele leva créditos por uma das músicas (o que é chocante se levarmos em conta que ele nunca autorizou nenhuma música com sonoridade próxima ou igual as do Oasis ou dele próprio). É notável a influencia dos irmãos Gallagher’s neste álbum e fiquei chocada que veio de um ex-boyband; o som dos violinos eEsbarrei neste álbum enquanto procurava uma música do Noel Gallagher já que, aparentemente, ele leva créditos por uma das músicas (o que é chocante se levarmos em conta que ele nunca autorizou nenhuma música com sonoridade próxima ou igual as do Oasis ou dele próprio). Walls, Kill My Mind e Only the Brave certamente se destacam majestosamente. Para finalizar, algo que não pude deixar de notar foi a neutralidade dos gêneros nas músicas; se não me engano houve apenas uma em que ele cita a palavra “queen/rainha”, dando a entender que é uma mulher, entretanto, em nenhuma outra há essa especificação. O que torna tudo mais interessante porque as musicas poderão ser usadas tanto por pessoas heterossexuais, como por homoafetivas. Posso dizer que Louis Tomlinson certamente ganhou mais uma fã!… Expand

    i absolutely loved this one! the lyrics really touched me, it's so full of emotion and true. also the sound deserves a highlight here, it's different from current pop and what appears on the radio, and it's really good! i think it's innovative and authentic, a really good album!

    An album with a very good production, both the vocals and instrumentals are great. Very impressive for a debut album by someone who is still finding his style after leaving a band. I hope Tomlinson continues to provide us with his incredible work.

I’ve always seen his fans waiting and waiting for this moment and I think the wait was worth, it’s and incredible album full of emotions. Two Of Us got me on crying, he sang it with all his heart and I could feel exactly what he was trying to pass.     its a really good album. i wont give a ten just cause louis still seem a little lost about what path to really go in his carrer but its okay cause its his first album i guess, its just that some songs kinda break the indie vibe he was trying to go for most of the album. still a very good one, it shows how the dudes super talented. i look forward to his next album as well

Tomlinson did a great job with the sound of Fearless and the composition of Perfect Now.     This is a beautiful work made by this talent man for his fans! Every song is well written, these lyrics tell something, it's not mainstream bulls***, it's not for sales. He puts himself in it, that's so important. Maybe it sounds a bit like one direction bc he was the one who wrote most of the band's songs, it's not a bad thing it means he is finding his way to his true self as an artist.

There was a lovely sense of nostalgia for what I assume are his musical influences, and it's a breath of fresh air in today's music. Such an emotional album to have made for such a young guy, and I'mWasn't sure what to expect after reading the music critic reviews, but I don't know what album they were listening to. I was really moved by both the lyrics and the unique sound of his voice. There was a lovely sense of nostalgia for what I assume are his musical influences, and it's a breath of fresh air in today's music. Such an emotional album to have made for such a young guy, and I'm quite impressed by his songwriting talent. He's quite the storyteller. After this, I'd count myself a fan.     Tomlinson surprised me with this album! I was like "I'm not going to listen to this, it sounds like all the other kids in pop" but no, it's different and catchy. I feel in my adolescence again with the vibe of your album, I will keep an eye on your works because I found a great composer and singer!!!

    I am really surprised by this album! I didn't know Louis Tomlinson before, but I can see how sincere and full of history and true emotions the lyrics are. The beats are different from song to song and this makes the album pleasant to listen to and not tiring. Definitely entered my list of favorite albums.

    O álbum é incrível e muito coeso, você consegue sentir e entender perfeitamente o que quer ser transmitido através de cada composição, e essa é uma das melhores qualidades artísticas do Louis (compor de forma honesta). Além disso, o instrumental combina maravilhosamente bem com as letras, e é um ótimo exemplo do indie pop atual. Eu realmente amei e recomendo que ouçam.

    Louis Tomlinson did a good job keeping true to himself and not trying to write hits for charts. Sure, a few songs are flawed but there is no way we can ignore he is, in fact, a new artist (on his own). Some lyrics are very deep and personal, Only The Brave is a great tune.

You can feel the mix of emotions that he felt during the process of the album. In two of us he express his pain, however it contains also a positive message; always you has a different vibe that impressed me and it is perfect for live shows that will make the crowd sing as loud as they can while he shows his regreat for letting “the one” go. Louis proved (once again) that he is one of the best writters of this generation giving us lyrics like “It is a church of burn romances and I am too far gone to pray” and “looked you in the eyes, saw that I was lost/ For every question why, you were my because”. In addiction, his voice is so good and he has total control over it what makes possible amazing vocals as in defenceless, fearless and walls.

Kill my mind opens the album beautifully, you immediately feel sucked into Louis’ British roots, with his thick thick accent and magician voice singing a typical Brit pop song. On the album he introduces a sound we haven’t heard from him before, Britpop and indie, in songs like kill my mind, walls and only the brave, meanwhile tomlinson still stays loyal to his pop roots with songs like perfect now, don’t let it break your heart and too young. His voice, even though maybe not the strongest Voice coming out of one direction, sounds magical and suck you into the story he’s telling with his music. Songs like fearless, too young and two of us make it heart to not tear up, while I can imagine perfect now will work empowering for his mainly female fanbase. I thought the album was an excellent, guitar driven album. Tomlinson got a new fan and I can’t wait what the future holds, it can only get better from here.… Expand

    This album is so refreshing to hear. It's like going back into the time when all lyrics were good and not just about the beat. All tracks are phenomenal — lyrics wise and tune wise. This album has no skips. Incredible!

    I think Louis debut album is solid. The album clearly shows the transition between his 1D days towards his solo work. I like it that the songs are relatable to me - as I also experienced loss of loved one, hardships in relationships (and moving towards breaking down the walls) and loving/missing someone special to me. Coming from someone who has never been a huge One Direction or Louis Tomlinson fan, I am rather impressed. 'Always You' has a very catchy chorus that has been stuck in my head for a day and the single, 'Walls' consists of a nice melody and a great level of production.Louis Tomlinson demonstrates a good level of maturity and growth in terms of his sound throughout his debut album.     However, I had somewhat of a 'meh' moment while listening to 'Perfect Now', which has a positive message that applies to many of Tomlinson's fanbase, it simply was not for me.
    A notable element of Louis' music is that his voice is quite distinct, in a very positive manner - his timbre is extremely pleasant.
    Overall, I recommend the album to anyone who has a taste for the realm of alternative-rock-pop!

    this is an album four years in the making and one i think was definitely worth the wait. ive always been drawn to louis as a lyricist and this album really showcases his talent as a wordsmith with lines like 'i've ran out of energy of playing someone i've heard im supposed to be', 'we're sleeping on our problems like we'll solve them in our dreams' and 'oh the lonely shadow dances from thethis is an album four years in the making and one i think was definitely worth the wait. ive always been drawn to louis as a lyricist and this album really showcases his talent as a wordsmith with lines like 'i've ran out of energy of playing someone i've heard im supposed to be', 'we're sleeping on our problems like we'll solve them in our dreams' and 'oh the lonely shadow dances from the cradle to the grave' these in particular really stand out to me for their honesty and poetry. he's finally been given the opportunity to showcase his voice and it is beautiful, standout moments for me are his high notes in 'always you' and the bridge in 'defenceless'. louis has done an incredible job of introducing a new sound to his already dedicated audience without dismissing the sound that we had all initially fallen in love with, this is just a taste of what he can do and it's only going to get better from here. my favorite songs so far are 'only the brave', 'always you', 'defenceless', 'habit' and the title track 'walls' but honestly there isn't a single track i would skip and ive been listening to it non stop all day.… Expand

How amazed was I to discover that he was brave enough to follow the path of britpop! The melodies made me nostalgic and his voice is a delight to hear. The lyrics are honest and sometimes painful,I was incredibly surprised by Tomlinson's debut.     It's an album that everyone should listen to, with songs that reminds me of 80s rock but his style and the song it ends with is beautiful in every way (the vocals, the lyrics and the instrumentation) so I recommend you listen to "walls"

    An amazing debut album by Louis Tomlinson with wonderful musical arrangements, great singing voice that carries the emotion of the songs, and heartfelt, gorgeous lyrics. I also really enjoyed the well-balanced variety in styles and mix of upbeat and slower songs - you can tell, he is finding his own sound and place in the industry.

Two of Us is one of the most memorable tracks on the album - being written by Louis after he mom passed away. It has the right amount of grief and hope, probably one of the best songs on Walls. Don't Let it Break Your Heart and Walls are two of the fan favorites and rightfully so. Joined by Defenceless, these three show us the Tomlinson isn't afraid of being vulnerable and I think it's amazing to see a grown up man so comfortable with his emotions and vulnerability.. Too Young has an amazing guitar work and the right touch of sadness and nostalgia, where Louis talks about finding true love and making mistakes but realizing that there was still chance for him and 'the . Habit is also a break up where he realizes that he can't stop loving that person. That realization gets even stronger in Always You, when Tomlinson sings about traveling the world and still not being able to forget about that person, instead, after going from place to place, he realizes that it has always been that person. Perfect Now resembles to Little Things by One Direction - but less catchy and more emotional. It could've been written for his sisters or even his fans, so it might also become a fan favorite. Defenceless' deep lyrics might be hidden by the upbeat sound, but it's still there. Fearless has a nostalgic sound, as Tomlinson is facing the changes in his life since he's not a teen anymore. Only the Brave is the only song that wasn't written by him and it's also the shortest. The song has a very meaningful lyrics and the only bad thing about it it's the duration. Kill My Mind is the the 'happiest' song on the album.. From track 2 to 12, all the songs are sad - even the ones that are hopeful. Kill My Mind is the song to listen to while dancing and singing your lungs out… Expand

    Try as he may, Tomlinson has not quite progressed from featured voice to solo artist. For all the major changes in his life, his music seems to be stuck in place. You can take the boy out of the boyband, but not the boyband out of the boy.

    Even if the songs on Walls aren't the most distinct or memorable, they come from a place of authenticity that's genuinely heartwarming and enjoyable. Like any other settled adult, he's perfectly content to stick to the reliable and Walls winds up being the most mature and natural of the ex-1D bunch.
