album of the year along with "smile", "folklore" and "future nostalgia", support women who are boycotted by men (even women) who think they are superior at women who work hard just because they have a degree in criticism, which they don't value and don't honestly criticize

This album is R&B perfection. Chloe and Halle are soooo talented, the way they blend their voices together pefectly is beautiful. Altough not all the songs are great, Lonely, Ungodly Hour and Don't make it harder on me are masterpieces.

Of heaven and truly blessed by every divine being. Just angelic pureness of their voices juxtaposed with raunchy and yet heartfelt hedonistic lyrics. The sympathy they evoke is otherworldly. Their hypnotic harmonisation, the alluring melodies and trancing runs all mould to show one thing: the wonders of natural musicality. Just so much talent, pure art.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ungodly Hour is everything it needed to be and more. Its a progression from their debut album and finds them experimenting with new sounds while still being as authentic as they have always been. Chloe is still very involved in the production though not as much as she was in their debut. The albums into and first track, Forgive Me are very moody and atmospheric and they have some trap elements as well. The next track Baby Girl is the first in a string of female empowerment tracks on the album, produced by Chloe it has some Caribbean flavor to it and a powerful chorus. Do it, which was released as a single is is a smooth R&B track which just gets sweeter as it goes with that chorus. WHAT A BANGER! Tipsy has much darker lyrics than the other songs but you might even miss it because of the very upbeat fun production. The title track is a club anthem which also deals with the theme of love. Its very impressive to see them venture into this sound. Busy Boy is also a great R&B song that sounds like something straight out of the 90's, it just reminded me of TLC and Aaliyah, love it! Catch Up,the duet with Swae Lee has very nice Hip Hop production and a nice chorus as well, like something you would hear at a house party. The next 2 tracks which are my personal favorite , Overwhelmed and Lonely deal with more somber subject matter but have a very hopeful and uplifting message as well. The next 2 tracks after Lonely are traditional R&B ballads which deal with more mature subject matter in a way Chloe and Halle have never done before. The albums last track also has a very motivational message and it sounds like something that would fit on their debut perfectly. All in all, these girls did what needed to be done lol. The album is so cohesive and it has no fillers (at least for me) and this is just so rare. The growth, the vocals and melodies they show here is excellent. I don't know how they can top this, honestly i am so curious. Well done to them and Congratulations Expand

Such an incredible album. The only flaw I have with the album is that I wish it was longer because I didn't want it to end. Incredible vocals and harmonies.

Chlöe and Halle Bailey literally killed in their sophomore studio album, and they saved my whole soul and spirit, and somehow them lit up my life with their voices, lyrics and productions. Those girls and their songs, albums, mixtape, ep, vocals, power, finesse, classy, kindness, fun, joy and personalities brought the sweet part that I needed. THEY'RE THE SWEETENER IN MY DAILY BASIS!

Mind-blowing harmonies. Amazingly produced R&B album. Some boring songs. In my opinion, it would have been enough with 10 or 11 tracks. Loved it overall. It was my first time listening to them.

This album has a pretty cohesive sound that compliments Chloe’s and Halle’s vocals like soft butter. It begins with a really strong intro track, and it beautifully transitions into Baby Girl and Do It, both very solid tracks. However, the peak of the album hits with the beautiful productions and harmonies provided in “Tipsy” and the title track, “Ungodly Hour. ” The only song on the albumThis album has a pretty cohesive sound that compliments Chloe’s and Halle’s vocals like soft butter. It begins with a really strong intro track, and it beautifully transitions into Baby Girl and Do It, both very solid tracks. However, the peak of the album hits with the beautiful productions and harmonies provided in “Tipsy” and the title track, “Ungodly Hour. ” The only song on the album I felt could have stayed off the album is “Catch Up” ft. Swae Lee. This song in particular is so weak compared to the incredibly strong tracks surrounding it. We reach another peak of the album when the girls introduce “Lonely” with an “Overwhelmed” interlude that puts their vocals on front stage. From here on out, every song works amazing in the album (huge highlight also being “Don’t Make it Harder on Me” and after listening to it a few times, I think it’s a strong contender for one of my favorite albums this year! Its pop-R&B foundation is a little slicker, still tricked out with the occasional trap-styled production techniques -- probing bass, rattling percussion -- twisted just enough to not sound overdone.

Ungodly Hour boffs along with sexy aplomb. But this is carefully collated product with its eyes on all the prizes, rather than a space for vivid artistic expression.
