Insane band making an insane record !! C'est comme ça falls a bit short to the rest of the tracklist. But as a collective, their instrumental and lyrical work has taken a HUGE step forward. Even when its just a 10 track album it fills you up real good

The album is a psychedelic post-punk pondering about confusion between feeling overwhelmed over weight of being alive & the issues surrounding you, from the most ordinary inside you to those enormous far away, and finally hopelessness around it. It’s about a ‘war’ far away, the one as it seems without your direct impact on, and then, another one in your own head. It’s about anxious calculation of self-preservation and taking actions & engaging with problems. Do I leave the house or hide inside it? It’s about the emotional cost of instilled hyper-awareness of your own shortcomings. What do I do with those? What if chaos is the easiest route, or the most captivating one? There is a rage & vengefulness, and apathy & resignation at the same time all over the album. It’s about trying to find the balance, but is it even possible once your awareness grows & mental issues accumulate? There is no answer. And that's what the album is about. Expand

It's a complex album with directly messages to 00's emo/rock generation wich had some identification with the band. This is album communicate with people who used to feel disconnected by society, tried to fit in and now it's embracing their weirdness, uniqueness and viscerous piece of their selfs. There's a lot of critics of the way the we're living, to the capitalism, autopilot mode and bad things we normalize instead of normalizing our identities. The narrative is clear and it'll connect to the ones strays in social life, to the people that need to free themselves of normality, especially to the ones that tried to fit in and get lost being adults socially acceptable, but in intension inner disorder . You can be what you used to be. That's the calling to the 00s teenagers, now adults. The complexity emotional it's a point from the middle til the end of the album. The group talks about being adult and also vulnerable, it's notable the dilemma of adult maturation in conflict with wilderness, sadness, savior complex, emotional disappointments and nostalgic. Hayley end it calling the listener to achieve new memories, creating nostalgic as it the listener actually does for the past. It's a big invite to embrace life as it was (and as it is), as you have to do to your self, and how you used to do it and stopped in the middle of the life's path. The sonority it's mature, new elements made that production sounds actual, but not strange to people that has a past connection to the group. It's a masterpiece to Indie/rock fans, and complex to a complex adult generation. Expand

You get the feeling that Hayley Williams and the rest of Paramore are still looking more outwardly than inwardly — that the wisdom of age has left them wanting for more, and questioning all. And that’s a great look for Paramore.

Slight missteps do little to deter what is some of the band's most instantly likable tracks in their career, where they turn up one rave-up rocker after the next with wide-eyed fury. Having proven themselves time and time again, they've far outpaced those unwilling to grow up with them.

That dichotomy between the visceral and the lackadaisical defines This Is Why instead of its value as a snapshot of this decade's global chaos, and in that sense, this LP is neither their best nor their "most mature." Regardless, there's nothing to stop you from reveling in this album's own chaotic dynamics, seriousness and passiveness juxtaposed. It's a worthy if mildly disappointing addition to Paramore's canon.
