Every song was a bop! This album was very consistent. The only song I ended up disliking was Big Daddy. Nicki's verse was amazing but Meek Mill sounded atrocious and street the track into a downfall. Due to Meek, I feel like Big Daddy doesn't belong one the album.

The Pinkprint is a good album for Nicki Minaj. I enjoyed listening to it. With so many A-List featured artist listeners got a diverse composition of songs and sounds. The first half of the album displays fantastic music and lyrics and the second half fades a little bit. But I enjoyed this album and would recommend to any hip-hop fans.

The Pinkprint, first off, is better than Nicki MInaj's first album. Also, I'm glad she returned more to her hip hop roots. Also, I'm glad she returned more to her hip hop roots. She demonstrates repeatedly on this record that she is undoubtedly the most technically skilled female rapper in the game. With a title referencing Jay Z's classic Blueprint album, I was hoping Nicki would pull off a feat like her label-mate Drake did with Take Care and put out a record worthy of the classic label despite a massive tracklist. It didn't happen; The Pinkprint has a lot of fantastic material, but it also has some material ranging from mediocre to borderline-horrible. If Nicki had limited her album to the best 10 or so tracks then it would be worthy of an is-it-a-classic conversation. Regardless, she shouldn't, and I'm sure doesn't, care: Nicki said what she wanted to say and I think it's worth hearing. ~ 6.9

    Tracks:
"All Things Go": solid rapping, good intro for an emotional album. the heartfelt lyrics make me want to give it a 5, but it's not quite there sonically (4/5)
"I Lied": genuine emotion.. this one hits you deep (4/5)
"The Crying Game": glazed-over pop song with irrelevant lyrics.. Nicki's flow (not lyrics) on her middle verse saved this one (2/5)
"Get On Your Knees": pleasantly surprised by Ariana Grande's voice, but her performance was lacking.. didn't think I was going to see a song on this album that better exemplifies bad pop than The Crying Game but this song changed that real quick (1/5)
"Feeling Myself": Beyoncé and Nicki killed it and Hit-Boy's production was impressive (5/5)
"Only": Nicki was good and Wayne and Chris Brown weren't bad, but Drake KILLED IT. the "I was still staring at the **** doeee" line was hilarious.. can't judge a song for the subject matter if it's meant to be a banger, it is what it is (4/5)
"Want Some More": wow.. saw some of that Monster-level flow from Nicki. reminds you she can really rap.. would've liked to see her just go off on this Zaytoven beat and get rid of the brief vocal effects and maybe the chorus. also, the "want that Union, want that D Wade" line was clever (4/5)
"Four Door Aventador": well-structured song. perfect, even flow from Nicki (5/5)
"Favorite": I really enjoyed this song.. reminded me of a more up-tempo version of Future's Real and True.. Nicki was impressive.. the last minute could've been left off (4/5)
"Buy A Heart": smh.. Meek Mill was so bad on this one... sonically, it was overall pretty good though (2/5)
"Trini Dem Girls": I really, really, really want to hate this song but it had a good flow and Lunchmoney Lewis performed well (3/5)
"Anaconda": speaking of wanting to hate a song... respect though, it shows how big a pop song can blow up when performed right and Nicki's first verse was borderline fire. I'm just gonna pretend the last minute wasn't included.. (4/5)
"The Night Is Still Young": more glossed-over pop.. filled with empty cliches.. I'm actually genuinely disappointed in Nicki with this one. The two pop songs I hated on previously actually showed effort and had their moments, I just view them as clear misses. This one was a clear, bland attempt at getting some youtube views and/or radio play (0/5)
"Pills N Potions": and this.. this is good pop rap. beautiful. meaningful. Nicki killed it. (5/5)
"Bed Of Lies": another great pop rap record.. Skylar Grey was impressive, as was Nicki. you could hear the emotion in her voice on this one.. a powerful performance, maybe one of the best of her career (5/5)
"Grand Piano": I didn't like this one quite as much as some people did, but it was heartfelt.. it felt like most of the song was her repeating the chorus though (3/5)

Very good pop/rap album with great production album. It is also well written and proves that Nicki Minaj is still the hardest current female rapper. I like it.

If Pink Friday established her as a voice with versatility and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded established her as a voice with commercial impact, The Pinkprint at last establishes her as a voice altogether. It’s her most accomplished album to date. Especially its first half, where Nicki Minaj—no, not ‘Roman Zolanski’ or ‘Barbie’, but Onika Maraj herself—highlights her vulnerability on “All Things Go”, a record referencing the murder of her cousin and an abortion she had when she was a teenager, and “I Lied”, one of Mike Will Made It’s darkest productions to date that could or could not lyrically trace back to Minaj’s longtime relationship with Safaree Samuels, which allegedly ended in 2014 and is seemingly Pinkprint’s primary go-to inspiration. And then there’s her continuously maturing sexual confidence on the Dr. Luke produced “Get On Your Knees”—co-written by Katy Perry, features Ariana Grande, but couldn’t come close to being deemed “radio-friendly”—and “Only”, which has Minaj’s most memorable verse on the entirety of the album.

Minaj has a lot of collaborators on The Pinkprint, but mostly let’s everyone know who’s running this show. And when she’s not, it’s her holding herself back. Unfortunately, where Pinkprint stumbles, it’s when Minaj tries to throw the ball to everyone on the court, usually fresher faces. It’s an exemplification of how obvious it is that they were tacked on post-production by her record label. Even Queen B makes an underwhelming appearance on “Feeling Myself”, which is less Pinkprint and more of a blueprint appropriately scheduled after their previous diva dominating collaboration on the remix of Beyoncé’s “***Flawless”.

Though not all collaborations are a misfortune on an overall solid record, Minaj’s intent on reviving the more urban oriented sounds of her pre-Pink Friday mixtapes means Pinkprint’s singles—obviously meant to compensate for any financial loss in case nobody buys into serious Nicki—are underwhelming as well: “Pills N Potions” is gimmicky, hollowly produced, and is pushed to the second half after her much, much more vulnerable offerings on the first three tracks; “Anaconda” is conceptually well-intentioned and fun, but the second-half is just a compilation of Minaj’s gurgling, wannabe Weezy laughs, and skinny-shaming lines that turn on the single’s initial theme; and “Bed of Lies”, which is just dull and a rehash of everything that topped the R&B charts in the last three years.

But once you quit scoffing at the overabundance of filler collaborations and more of Minaj’s attempt at recreating the success of “Super Bass”, The Pinkprint is her most accomplished album to date. Her singing still isn’t as versatile as her rapping skills, but there’s definitive enough talent there to make sappy power ballads like album closer “Grand Piano” convincing enough to make us feel for her heartbreak over what’s-his-name. It’s not a foreseeable classic like the Jay-Z album it replicates by title, but it’s another—if not larger—step-forward into the legacy that is Nicki Minaj.

A good album, a good vibe and good lyrics... Nicki still doing her best in all her albums. "The Pinkprint" is great, but why the hell it has songs with 'same' beats? It did me bored. And Ariana Grand should not be in this album... And the album should stops on "Grand Piano", just 16 tracks and not 22.

But it still be a great album. Favorites tracks: "Grand Piano", "Pills n Potions",

Although the album boasts more introspective lyricism that we haven't come to expect from a rapper like Nicki Minaj, The Pinkprint lacks the frenetic energy and the creativity of her previous Roman Reloaded record.

The album has a very raw image, and without having a legal view. The compositions as always, are impeccable and incredible! Lack of cooperation and a lack of details, but each song is to dance or reflect and laugh with the ironies of life. In the next album, that Nicki Minaj evolves like this album!

Undoubtedly Nicki Minaj’s best album to date, this album is a classic example of an album with highs and lows, as without horrible tracks like “Trini Dem Girls” and “Anaconda”, as well as suspect tracks such as “Only” and “Four Door Aventador”, this one could be truly something to behold, which was not at all what I expected. As her last album may have been one of my least favorite releases of 2012, I obviously had extremely low expectations for this one, but Nicki showed her skills her on many occasions, in large part thanks to her being willing to get emotional. Tracks such as “All Things Go”, “I Lied”, “The Crying Game”, “Pills n Potions”, and “Bed of Lies”, are all very good songs that honestly helped to reshape my opinion of Nicki and elevated this album above her more stereotypical and sexed up tracks. In addition, the song “Grand Piano” just really, really touched my heart and is far and away the best track on this album and one that will be on replay for me for a while. Without some of the bottom feeding tracks aimed at the lowest common denominator, this album could have been something to truly behold, but sadly, it is not. I hope that for her next album, she sticks with the emotional side of things where she can truly flex her vocal skills, her rapping skills, and strike a chord rather than just try to sell her body to thirsty dudes. It was better than I expected and my expectations were very low since she released Anaconda (and that was garbage).
There were some good songs (like The Night Is Still Young and Grand Piano), but a lot of the songs fell short because they were WAY too boring and repetitive.
Yet again mainstream music proves itself to be just as mediocre as you would expect.

Pois bem, após muitos adiamentos, o The Pinkprint lançou e eu pude ouvir.

When it doesn't sound like a mess, it's a really good album. Tracks like All Things Go and I Lied are masterpieces, but singing about love and heartbreak after rapping about dick size doesn't work for me. We finally get some edgy personal tracks from The alleged Queen of Rap. However, most songs don't hook with you and can be left out in the dust because of a lack of replay value. Sometimes, you can make songs that are too personal to listen to twice.

The same method used in Pink Friday: Roman Reload. In one half of the album, she is a **** in another she's the Pop/Rap's Princess. Following the success of Pink Friday... Roman Reloaded, Minaj's Pinkprint just does not seem to justify the latter's success. There are a handful of good songs such as Get on Your Knees- however remains Minaj's weakest album to date.

overall it is really a sad depressing record. Where all the love appearing is toxic, where the raping game doesnt brings her anymore fun.
it's funny that a woman that has acceded the social status she owns, get her life entangled, with such a morose issues as, the size of her ass (man! what it's gonna be past 40), the size of her man's ... ego and the mood of her relatives. ****

The album is good, because it returns to its roots of hip hop. But the songs lack some spark, are too boring and repetitive. I think a good album but not the best. Expected to do an album like Azealia Banks, Broke With Expensive Taste, which is perfect and innovative, something is missing in The Pinkprint.
The best songs: Pills N Potions, Anaconda and Feeling Myself.

This is album is a pop album, not a hip hop album. If it is considered hip hop, then this album is garbage. I don't know what route she wanted to take but it's a total fail. This album is an easy skip or ignore for the year.

nothing commercial, all surface to appear to be a rapper she is not
nothing commercial, talking vulgar or futile things to sell as it did when I was crazy outfits and wigs roses

Sadly she results in a tiring, flat-sounding, boring hip-hop record. The first five tracks are dull, and bring nothing to the table. Then we get more up-tempo songs like "Anaconda" or "Truffle Butter" that come off as extremely sordid. Anything other than those two extremes are fillers and sound awfully like rejects from other big name rap artists. There is absolutely nothing good about this album. Nicki Minaj seems to think that she's "the baddest" but she's not. There are many female rappers, like Iggy Azalea, that have more talent in their fingers than Nicki Minaj has in overall. Expand

Bad, utterly trashy, & highly offensive. Nicki is a talentless witch who makes shoddy stereotypical rap songs such as partying, sex, drugs, etc. Also a terrible candidate for Sugilite from Steven Universe. Please stick to good rap artists such as Azealia Banks, Angel Haze, Dreezy, Tkay Maidza, Stefflon Don, IAMDDB, & FLOHIO.

Departing from her more pop-oriented sound that dominated much of her early career; Minaj
released The Pinkprint in 2014. Her third studio album that returned to the old, hard-hitting
style of rapping Minaj had previously garnered fame and attention for as an underground
rapper. Never had the world ever seen her be so vulnerable; so honest and so genuine in front of
an audience as large. Spawning the “vulgar” and record-breaking smash hit Anaconda that
peaked at #2 on the Hot 100; the album was met with mixed reviews with some even being
    highly negative.
As the Guardian put it in their 2014 article, “She has no idea what her strengths are”, many
critics seem to think the album lacked cohesion and that Minaj’s artistic input seemed to be all
over the place with the multiple sounds she portrayed on the album. Many even seemed to think
the album expressed her confusion as an artist and that she is “yet to find her own sound”
To say these statements were presumptuous would simply not be enough. For starters; Minaj has
always been an incredibly versatile artist; dabbling in pop, gospel, rap, pop-rap and even
alternative music. From the very beginning of her career; she has offered a diverse portfolio,
giving the audience a little bit of everything. Hence why she’s been crowned the Queen of Rap
and why she has managed to keep the title for over a decade. There’s a reason she’s the only
female rapper to have made a million dollars off of a mixtape.
To say the album lacks cohesion could not be any further from the truth. The album slowly
progresses into a more mellow sound track after track despite none of the tracks sounding similar
to the other. Her music has always been about uniqueness and unapologetically being herself.
    2
While others, such as Drake, are praised for a similar approach; why is it that Minaj is deemed a
    bad influence and shunned?
For, wasn’t it Minaj who even made it possible for female rappers to dabble into multiple genres
and produce versatile albums that did not follow the same old Lil’ Kim influenced styles of
rapping? For many; the Pinkprint was a therapeutic outlet; an album that inspired millions and
helped them grow stronger and move on from harder times. I personally was able to learn selfacceptance and love by assessing the lyrics of this masterpiece and by listening to it on repeat.
The Pinkprint isn’t simply an album; it is a letter by Minaj to her family and friends. From the
heart shattering venting in All Things Go to the up-beat twerk anthem Anaconda, Minaj stays
loyal to her image and brand and reminds us to love ourselves, to be ourselves, to love others and
to always be brave, upfront and outgoing. She reminds us what it means to be a boss and to be
self-reliant and powerful. As she says in one of the tracks, Pills n Potions, “people will love you
and support you when it’s beneficial”, life is all about growing from heart-break and agony and if
it’s anyone that can capture that lyrically and verbally it is Nicki Minaj.

  1. An understandable desire to have her traumas understood by everybody inevitably results in a bland mush of melodrama. Despite this, The Pinkprint is Nicki Minaj’s most successful album by a fairly wide margin, as she becomes more empathetic than at any point in the past while Pink Friday’s DMZ between pop and rap becomes little more than a historical footnote in her career.
